The Best Pinchos in Logroño

The famous Calle Laurel in Logroño, Spain.

You know that feeling of reading a restaurant menu and wanting to order everything becaue it all sounds so good, but you can't because you'll have too much food? Well Logroño, Spain has the solution: pinchos, small plates of food you eat with a glass of wine.

Riojanos have the custom of going out from pincho bar to pincho bar with family or friends grabbing something different at each place. With dozens of bars lining the streets of Calle Laurel, it can feel overwhelming with each bar offering its best. In this post, I will share with you what I think are the best pinchos in Logroño. These are the ones that you don't want to miss!

Quick note: if you're going out for pinchos with a large group, it's best to put everyone's money together (Spanish people called this a bote), order together and pay as a group. The bars get quite crowded, especially on the weekends and the employees will appreciate it!

Mushrooms

A mushrooms pincho in Logroño.

One of the most classic and best pinchos in Logroño is a stack of mushrooms cooked in olive oil, salt and garlic, and stacked on a piece of bread. In Spanish, this is called "champiñones." It comes with a small shrimp on top, but you can ask for them without it if you don't eat seafood.

In my opinion, El Soriano is the best place to get these! However it is small and often full of people, so Bar Ángel is a good second choice.

Tío Agus

Tío agus pincho in Logroño

If you need a delicious and filling pincho, look no further than Tío Agus. This is a pork sanwich with this amazing secret green sauce. If you don't eat meat, they also have the same sandwich as a ¨tofu agus."

Pineapple mixed with seafood

Pineapple and shrimp skewer pincho at Juan y Pinchamé in Logroño.

This is the famous brocheta at Juan y Pinchamé. This pincho is a tad more off the beaten path than the others mentioned in this post. The upside is that the bar is often a bit less crowded than the others.

I absolutely love it this pincho! It is that perfect mix between sweet and salty with a good kick of protein. They also have a crabby patty (Spongebob anyone?) and a few other pinchos.

Brioche Costilla

The brioche costilla pincho in La Tabola on Calle Laurel in Logroño, Spain.

This small sandwich is an amazing mix of cheese, meat and some crispy veggies. It can be found at La Tabola. There are other pinchos at this bar, but nothing really as good as this one. This bar tends to be quite crowded, so get ready to be elbow to elbow with people.

Blanco y Negro

A toast with goat cheese, jamón and raspberry jelly on Calle Laurel in Logroño.

This pincho is what I usually eat last as a dessert pincho. It is a piece of toast with goat cheese, jamón and a raspberry jelly on top. It is to die for. You can find it at a bar called Blanco y Negro.

What do you think?
